Tucan Travel was originally founded in 1987 as a tour operator in South America. The brand grew extensively over the years to become a world wide operator. The covid pandemic in 2020 put an end to that and Tucan Travel was forced to close for ever in 2021.
Matt and Tanya took over the website in 2024 in the hope of continuing to inspire travellers to explore the world. With expertise in running group tours and having travelled independently by many means all over the world, we hope to give you that little bit of help to choose what’s right for you and not to make the same mistakes we have seen many times.
Whether you are a first-time adventure seeker or a seasoned independent traveller, we can help you to discover the world’s most amazing people and places, cultures and landscapes. Whether you choose to travel on a small group tour or design your own tailor-made adventure you will always wish to experience the world in an authentic and exciting way.

Travel has become so diverse across the world that it can be very confusing to work out the best way to travel for you, based on your budget, previous travel experience and comfort levels.
We try to cover all the options and below is a small list of ways to travel that we hope to be able to give level headed advice on.
